Boeing's Dreamliner 787, the world'sfirst composite airplane, has finally landed at the door of its new owner, All Nippon Airways (ANA) in Japan.
Electronic Craftsmen supplies inductors used in flight critical electrical systems on this aircraft.
The first ANA pilot to take control of the plane says it was worth the wait: three-plus years after its 2008 anticipated delivery date, the plane is none-the-less a technical marvel. With aluminum replaced by carbon fiber-reinforced composite plastic, the plane's weight is diminished by 20%. ANA has ordered 55 as Boeing's launch customer; more than 800 orders from 50 airlines await the unique airliner.
