Boeing's Dreamliner 787, the world's first composite airplane, has finally landed at the door of its new owner, All Nippon Airways (ANA) in Japan. E Craftsmen supplies inductors used in flight critical electrical systems on this aircraft.
The first ANA pilot to take control of the plane says it was worth the wait: three-plus years after its 2008 anticipated delivery date, the plane is none-the-less a technical marvel. With aluminum replaced by carbon fiber-reinforced composite plastic, the plane's weight is diminished by 20%. ANA has ordered 55 as Boeing's launch customer; more than 800 orders from 50 airlines await the unique airliner.
